Croatian eases through medical check

Luka Modric has passed his medical with Real Madrid as he puts the finishing touches on his move from Tottenham.

Madrid have confirmed the Croatia playmaker has successfully completed his medical tests with the Spanish giants and is now set to pen to paper on a five-year contract at the Bernabeu. A statement on Real Madrid's official website read: "The new player of Real Madrid, Luka Modric, has passed the medical which he has undertaken at the Hospital Sanitas La Moraleja, prior to his signing for the club. "The Croatian has passed the different tests that he has taken without any problems." Modric made 160 appearances for Spurs, scoring 17 goals, and moves for a fee reported to be £33million.
