Defender heading out
Tottenham are set to dispense with the services of New Zealand centre half Ryan Nelsen who could be heading to the USA.
The 34-year-old was signed on a short term deal from Blackburn in January as cover for the injured Sebastien Bassong, but he is not part of the future at the club and will be allowed to leave on a free. With Ajax's Jan Vertonghen close to agreeing a deal to move to White Hart Lane, although it is dragging on a little, Harry Redknapp is reorganising his defence and Nelsen, who spent four years at DC United before leaving them for Blackburn in 2005, is not part of it. DC along with other MLS sides, are thought to be keen on offering him a deal.
