Spurs striker Jermaine Defoe was delighted to score on his 50th appearance for England against Moldova, in a comfortable win.
Defoe was picked ahead of Manchester United's Danny Welbeck and Chelsea striker Daniel Sturridge for the tie in Moldova on Friday, as he made a landmark appearance for the national side.
The Spurs star also managed to grab a goal in the World Cup qualifier as England ran out 5-0 winners and Defoe was happy to mark the occasion with a goal.
"It's obviously nice to get a start and a 50th cap. It's a great night for me," Defoe told Sky Sports News.
"It was a good win at the end. It was important to win the game and be patient.
"The early goal helped and to get a goal as well was fantastic."
