Mark van Bommel is being urged to up sticks at Bayern Munich and join Spurs for the second half of the season.
Current Spurs success story Rafael Van Der Vaart has urged the Bayern Munich skipper and his Holland team-mate to join him at White Hart Lane to continue Spurs' pursuit of silverware this season.
Van Der Vaart told the Mirror: "Mark is a super player with lots of experience that would help the younger players in the Tottenham team.
"The club wants to make the next step, to reach the level of our local rivals Arsenal.
"Tottenham are already close to getting there but Mark can help us even further. I think that is possible. Also every club could use good players."
The 33-year-old is a wanted man though and Spurs would have to fight off interest from AC Milan and Liverpool in the player but he is thought to want Champions League football and that rules them out.
