German link to Rafa

Tottenham may have a battle on their hands to keep Dutch playmaker Rafael van der Vaart, despite claims he is happy with Spurs.

The frontman has had an excellent season at White Hart Lane and has no intention of moving on, but rumours persist in Germany that he is about to switch to Schalke so he can be nearer his wife, who works on German TV.
Van der Vaart previously played in Germany for Hamburg and he and wife Sylvie have always insisted they loved their time at the club and although he is keen to stay at Spurs, he says you never rule anything out.
He German newspaper Bild: "I don't know. Actually, I want to stay at Tottenham. But in football, you never know."
With rumours about Gareth Bale and Luka Modric possibly leaving this summer, the last thing Tottenham want is for another star to be linked with a close season exit.
