Injury to keep striker out
Spurs striker Jermain Defoe is still suffering from his ankle ligament problem and will not play against Lyon.
The England striker is also struggling to be fit for Monday night's clash at West Ham but is keeping his fingers crossed that he will be available for the north London derby.
Andre Villas-Boas had hoped Defoe would be back in time for the trip to France, where Spurs are defending a 2-1 lead, but that is not going to happen and he is unlikely to travel.
His absence means Emmanuel Adebayor, who has yet to hit any sort of form this season, is the only out and out frontman available for the Lyon clash.
