King set for Spurs offer
Tottenham are preparing to offer Ledley King a 12-month contract to keep him at White Hart Lane for another season.
The veteran defender is out of contract next month and could walk away for nothing but it is looking increasingly likely that Spurs will offer him a new deal when the two sides meet for talks this week. King is plagued by chronic knee problems which means he does not train from week to week and he struggles to play twice in seven days but his contribution is such that Harry Redknapp is happy with the arrangement and is ready to keep it the same for a further year. The 31-year-old would not be short of suitors if he did become available as, despite his injury problems, Reading are said to be keeping an eye on developments.
