Tottenham will move for Hugo Lloris once Luka Modric has joined Real Madrid, according to the goalkeeper's father.

Spurs are keen to land the Lyon goalkeeper and along with Arsenal have been chasing the £12million-rated star all summer but have so far failed to agree a deal. However that could all be about to change according to the player's agent and father, Luc, who says Spurs will have the funds to wrap up a move as soon as the Modric move is completed. "I'm sure that Hugo's move will be accelerated if Modric joins Real," Luc Lloris has been quoted as saying. Meanwhile, former boss Harry Redknapp has confirmed that Spurs told Modric 12 months ago he could join Real Madrid this summer, and does not expect him to start the season at White Hart Lane. "I would not be sure Luka would start the season at Tottenham," Redknapp revealed. "The club would be happy to sell if they get the right money. "The chairman said to him last year 'Give us one more season and if Real come in I won't stand in your way.'" Spurs are holding out for £40million and unless Real raise their offer the player could be forced to stay put.
