No Euro distraction pleases King

Tottenham Hotspur, 13:19, August 17, 2009 ,

Ledley King believes a lack of European football at Spurs this season can help them enjoy a much better campaign.

Harry Redknapp's side got off to the perfect start with a deserved 2-1 win over Liverpool on Sunday and, while King is keen to play down suggestions they can break into the top four, the defender believes things are looking positive at White Hart Lane.
"There's not been too much talk about us and the top four," he told the Evening Standard.
"For the last few seasons everyone has been talking about us doing this and that. It has been nice to say nothing and just work hard. With the quality we have got we can break into the top four."
He added: "We realise how tough it is after the last few seasons. But I think not being in the Europa League this season could help us.
"We have not talked about what we can achieve and just want to take each game at a time and win as many games as possible."
