Spurs close in on defender
Manchester City defender Micah Richards is said to be keen on a move away from Eastlands with Tottenham the favourites to land him.
Having not been involved in the England squad over the past year he now appears to have fallen out of favour under Roberto Mancini and fallen down the pecking order at the club.
Spurs are interested in taking Richards to White Hart Lane as he would add to their English home grown quota of players but for the same reason City are thought to be reconsidering their decision to sell him.
New UEFA rules state that every club must have at east eight home-grown talents in their squad which makes the likes of Richards and even more prized asset.
