Boss Harry Redknapp and defender Jonathan Woodgate are targeting Carling Cup glory after Tottenham's 2-1 quarter-final win at Watford.
The holders were forced to come from behind at Vicarage Road when Tamas Priskin opened the scoring in the 13th minute. Roman Pavlyuchenko scored from the penalty spot on the stroke of half-time, before Darren Bent came off the bench to fire in the second half winner.
Spurs won the trophy under Juande Ramos' leadership last season and Redknapp would like to emulate that feat. However he warned that the players must not neglect their Premier League form as a result.
"We'd love to reach the final," Redknapp said. "I'm sure they enjoyed their day but they won the final and couldn't win a league game.
"We've got to realise where our priorities are. League games are all important for us."
He added: "You get this close and it's important to try to go all the way now. The priority is the league, then secondly this competition because we have a genuine chance.
"Alex (United boss Sir Alex Ferguson) will sniff the chance, he'll want to win it. He won't put his youth team out."
Meanwhile Woodgate, who scored the extra-time winner to secure the Carling Cup for Spurs against Chelsea at Wembley in February, is also eyeing up a repeat this season.
"I'd like to think we can win it, of course we can," said the 28-year-old centre-back.
