Spurs likely to stick
Spurs manager Harry Redknapp has stated he will only look to buy in January if someone 'a bit special' becomes available.
This effectively rules out a move for Newcastle number nine Andy Carroll after the Geordie had been frequently linked with a move away from St James' Park, with White Hart Lane thought to be a possible destination. Having netted eleven times in the league already this season, Carroll is a target for most sides but Newcastle manager Pardew has made it clear that he wants to keep the in form striker on Tyneside. Redknapp admitted that he would move for the "old fashioned centre forward" should he become available but went on to say that he "couldn't see him moving," citing Pardew's desire to keep the striker as the reason. The Spurs squad is a strong one but many thought Redknapp would look to bolster his side to support European commitments. Such a spending spree now seems highly unlikely as Redknapp said his squad contained "so many players it would be hard fitting anybody in."
