Spurs links with Rossi resurface
Long-term Spurs target Giuseppe Rossi is keen to leave Villarreal before the transfer window closes, according to the player's agent.
Spurs have held a long standing interest in Rossi and the former Manchester United man is now keen to depart Villarreal following their relegation from the Spanish top flight. "I'm not worried because I'm conscious that interest in Rossi will start in the latter part of the window. He is calm and has his contract. Villarreal is in [league] B, but he will not play in B," his agent Federico Pastorello is quoted as saying in Gazzetta dello Sport. Villarreal had set a huge asking price on Rossi's head but they may now have to settle for a lower fee following Pastorello's comments. However, the transfer issue could be complicated further as the forward is currently sidelined with two separate anterior cruciate ligament injuries and isn't expected to be fit until February, at the earliest. Despite Rossi's injury concerns Spurs may make a move during the current transfer window as Italian giants AC Milan have also been credited with an interest.
