Spurs seal striker deal
Tottenham Hotspur, 17:51, August 5, 2009 ,
Darren Bent has ended over a week of frustration and signed a four-year deal at Sunderland for an initial fee of £10 million.
The former Ipswich striker has been on Wearside since the start of the week as he awaited the completion of an agreement between the clubs.
Bent is expected to go straight into the Black Cats squad for the friendly clash against Hearts at the weekend as he looks to forge an understanding with fellow strikers Kenwyne Jones and Frazier Campbell - who is his rival for the Black Cats' number nine shirt.
Thre fee is believed to be £10million up front with further payments due when he passes appearance, goal and performance-based landmarks.
