Spurs are set to confirm former Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas as their new boss over the weekend.
Chairman Daniel Levy has held talks with the Portuguese coach in the past few weeks and is set to offer him the job as Harry Redknapp's successor at White Hart Lane. The 34-year-old, who needs to repair his tarnished reputation after an unsuccessful spell in charge of Chelsea last term, could be named as the new man at the helm as early as the weekend. One of his first tasks could be to try and persuade Luka Modric to stay at the club with Real Madrid reportedly keen to lure the midfielder to the Bernabeu this summer, although he will be able to count on Gareth Bale following his recent decision to sign a new deal. Spurs are also close to landing Iceland international Gylfi Sigurdsson from German side Hoffenheim next week ahead of Liverpool, who were the initial favourites to secure his services after his spell working under new Reds boss Brendan Rodgers at Swansea on loan last season. With the changes at White Hart Lane, Spurs fans will be hoping of another top-four finish next term and punters can use a free bet to back them to do so.
