Spurs are expected to wrap up an £8million deal for Hoffenehim midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson by the end of the week.
Sigurdsson spent the second half of last season on loan at Swansea and had been poised to complete a £6.8million move to the Swans, before boss Brendan Rodgers decided to move to Liverpool. It had appeared as if Rodgers was on course to take the 22-year-old Iceland international to Anfield with him but Spurs have now stepped in and are set to snap up Sigurdsson. Reports suggest Spurs, who are still seeking a replacement for former boss Harry Redknapp, have already agreed personal terms with the midfielder and a move is expected to be completed by the end of the week.
