German international Miroslav Klose has revealed how he turned down the chance to join Tottenham this summer from Lazio.

It's no secret that Spurs have been in the hunt this summer for additional firepower and it appears that Klose was just one of a number of strikers who they have approached in recent months.
The 34-year-old, who is now just four goals behind Gerd Muller's record for the national team of 68, says he decided against the switch to White Hart Lane in favour of honouring his deal with the Serie A outfit.
Klose told Sportal.it: "Tottenham came looking for me but I signed for Lazio until 2014 and I intend to respect that contract.
Lazio coach Vladimir Petkovic is one of the greats. The Scudetto will be difficult but I can't yet say how far we will go. Now we must focus on Chievo then there will be the Europa League fixtures."
Ironically, he will now come face to face with Andre Villas-Boas' men in next week's Europa League clash between the two sides.
