Swap deal ruled out

Tottenham Hotspur, 09:39, June 11, 2008

Tottenham are losing interest in a deal that would see Aaron Lennon plus cash head to West Ham in exchange for Anton Ferdinand.

It was thought that Spurs were ready to offer the Hammers £6m for the centre half as they look to cover for the absence of Ledley King and Hammers boss Alan Curbishley was ready to do business at that sort of money.

But now that West Ham are interested in Lennon as they look to strengthen a midfield that could lose Nobby Solano, Freddie Ljungberg and Julien Faubert this summer, Spurs appear to be losing interest.

West Ham would also be happy for Tom Huddlestone or Darren Bent to be included as part of the deal but Juande Ramos is only interested in a straight cash deal.
