Winger move unlikely

Tottenham Hotspur, 11:49, July 22, 2008

Newcastle boss Kevin Keegan is confident Charles N'Zogbia will stay despite the player claiming he wants to join Tottenham.

The versatile Frenchman revealed earlier in the summer that he would like to move to either Tottenham or Arsenal given the fact he has family in the capital.

But Keegan insists he has no reason to believe N'Zogbia wants to quit St James' Park this summer.

He told the Daily Mail: "Charles' pre-season has been absolutely tremendous. That's a massive boost for me because I did not know quite how he would come back. But he has returned absolutely spot-on.

"He has worked very hard, and he's a very valuable player because he can play in two or three different positions."

Keegan added: 'I haven't talked with him. I don't ask players if they want to stay. They have got contracts. His attitude tells me, "Yes", but I don't ask them.'"
