Keane waits on permanent move

Tottenham, 09:00, February 2, 2010

Spurs striker Robbie Keane says he is not yet thinking about a permanent deal after joining Celtic on loan for the rest of the season.

Keane completed the move late on Monday night after Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp gave him the all clear to join the club he has supported since he was a boy.
The striker was given a heroes welcome at Parkhead just before midnight and Keane says he is delighted to have joined the Glasgow giants after struggling for action at White Hart Lane.
"To play football, first and foremost.," he revealed. "I'm no different to anyone else. I always wanted to play for Celtic and it works out well for both parties.''
When quizzed about the chances of a permanent move at the end of the season, Keane added: "That's as far as I've thought about anything.
"I didn't want to come here at 34 years of age at the end of my career and struggling. I think I'm coming here at the peak of my career.''
