Sevilla have put talks over a deal for Didier Zokora on hold after admitting they cannot meet Tottenham's valuation of the player.
The Spanish side are keen to wrap up a deal for the midfielder and Spurs are happy to sell if a price can be agreed. However, there is some distance between what Sevilla are willing to pay and what Spurs want and until that issue can be resolved a deal will not happen.
The two clubs discussed Zokora when meeting up to sort out the compensation for Juande Ramos but that seems to be the end of the matter for now.
"Since we met with Totenham on Monday to agree compensation for the departure of Juande Ramos, we have not spoken to them since," president Jose Maria del Nido revealed.
"It is true that first contact was made in Madrid with the chairman of Tottenham, Jose Maria Cruz (general director of Sevilla) and Monchi (sporting director), and that the distance between what they asked for and what we are willing to offer was so great that we left it there, and decided to speak again in the future."
