Spurs boss Harry Redknapp has revealed Croatian international Luka Modric could be fit in time to face Portsmouth on October 17.
The 24-year-old playmaker fractured his right fibula in Spurs victory over Birmingham last month and has since missed four games for Redknapp's side.
Modric's leg injury will keep him sidelined again as Spurs travel to Bolton on Saturday but Redknapp is confident Modric will be available for selection against Pompey.
Following the fixture at the Reebok Stadium there will be a two week break in the Premier League fixture list due to the up-coming World Cup qualifiers and Redknapp is hopeful Modric will be in contention for the game against Portsmouth at Fratton Park.
"He's coming along okay, it's a matter of waiting for the bone to heal now," said the Spurs boss. "We'll see how it goes. We have a break of two weeks coming up after Saturday's Bolton game so that could be enough time to get him back playing after that international break."
