Roma are lining up a pre-deadline move for Tottenham striker Roman Pavlyuchenko according to reports in Italy.
The Rossoneri are keen to draft in a new striker before the end of the transfer window and the Italian press say the Russian striker tops their wanted list.
Roma could face a battle to land their man though as Spurs boss Harry Redknapp would not be willing to sell unless he could find a replacement first, while Pavlyuchenko himself is said to be happy at White Hart Lane.
Cash could also be a problem for Roma and reports claim they would not be able to pay too much upfront and would want the transfer fee spreading over a good few years.
Again this would not appeal to Tottenham and a deal looks unlikely to happen before September 1st.
