Ronnie Moore faces a centre-back crisis as Tranmere prepare to get their season under way at Chesterfield in the Capital One Cup.

Ian Goodison is rated "50/50" with a calf problem and Mark McCrystal is a major doubt due to groin trouble after both were injured in Rovers' final pre-season friendly against Port Vale.
Ash Taylor also sustained a knock during the 1-1 draw at Vale Park, but he will be unavailable regardless after receiving a call-up to the Wales Under-21 squad to face Armenia on Wednesday along with new signing Jake Cassidy.
"Both Ian Goodison and Mark McChrystal will be very lucky if they can play on Tuesday," Rovers boss Moore told Wirral News. "I think Ash Taylor might get over his knock but he will not be available for us.
"I think it's ridiculous that we cannot ask the game to be postponed when we have players selected for Wales. We are being punished for having international players in our side."
Full-back Paul Black, a summer signing from Oldham, and forward Adam McGurk are sidelined with thigh problems. Former Rochdale duo Jean-Louis Akpa Akpro and Joe Thompson are in line for their Rovers debuts along with Abdulai Bell-Baggie and Danny Harrison, who both played under Moore at Rotherham.
