Watford news

The Hornets were formed in 1881, originally playing at the Cassio Road ground, before moving to their current home of Vicarage Road in 1922.

Graham Taylor, who has two spells in charge of the club, was Watford’s most successful manager. He led them to the FA Cup final in 1984 in his first spell and into the Premier League in his second spell.

Pop star Elton John is the club's honorary life president, while John Barnes is Watford’s most capped player – making 33 appearances for England during his time with the club.
