Ellington in limbo after Rams' decision
Nathan Ellington is expected to leave Watford after returning from Derby where he has been on a season-long loan deal.
The 27-year-old has been an expensive flop for the Hornets and was shipped out to the Rams for the season with an agreement in place that he could join them on a free transfer this summer.
However, he has been told by Derby boss Nigel Clough that he is not part of his plans for next season at Pride Park despite his nine goals for them, and has now returned to Vicarage Road.
Ellington joined the Hornets in August 2007 on a four-year deal for a then club-record fee of £3.25m but he has failed to live up to his potential and is now set to leave.
Several Championship sides would be keen on signing Ellington if the Hornets make him available on a free or for a nominal fee.
