Mixed news for Hornets

Martin Taylor is expected to be fit for Watford's trip to Brighton as fellow centre-back Adrian Mariappa serves a one-match suspension.

Taylor was forced off at half-time in Saturday's 1-1 draw against Hull struggling with a facial injury which was restricting his vision. Mariappa, who had missed the last four weeks with an ankle injury, came on at half-time as a replacement but was soon leaving the pitch again just 20 minutes later having been shown two quickfire yellow cards. Should Taylor be declared okay to resume his partnership with Nyron Nosworthy at the heart of defence then Dale Bennett is likely to be included among the substitutes as cover. Bennett could be joined on the bench by striker Gavin Massey following the completion of his loan stay with League One Colchester.
