Gianfranco Zola could be set for a return to management with Watford.
Prospective new Hornets owner Gino Pozzo admits Chelsea legend and former West Ham boss Zola is being lined up for a role at Vicarage Road.
The Pozzo family, who already own Serie A side Udinese and Spanish team Granada, have agreed a deal in principle to buy the npower Championship club.
But Pozzo stopped short of saying Zola will replace current manager Sean Dyche.
"There are contacts with Watford, so we'll see," Pozzo told gazzetta.it. "Gianfranco Zola enters in the project, but it's too early to talk about it."
Replacing Dyche would be a controversial move as he is a popular figure at Watford having enjoyed a successful debut season, guiding the Hornets to 11th, their highest league position in four years, despite operating with one of the Championship's lowest budgets.
