Albion in fresh Scottish spying mission
West Bromwich Albion,
West Brom made another check on Dundee United youngster Ryan Gauld in action for the Scotland Under-21 side on Thursday night.
A contingent of Baggies scouts were in Paisley for the European Under-21 Championship qualifier against Georgia in which Gauld started for Billy Stark's men.
However, it was not an easy night for Scotland or Gauld, who needed a late equaliser from substitute Callum Paterson to claim a 1-1 draw against an impressive Georgian side that showed better technique, according to SFA performance director Mark Wotte.
Gauld, 17, was watched by West Brom scoring twice for Dundee United against Motherwell the previous weekend, but he is no longer a secret in scouting circles, having attracted the attention of Real Madrid, Barcelona and several top clubs from the Premier League.
Gauld's Dundee United teammates Andrew Robertson, 19, and Stuart Armstrong, 20, were also on show in both matches that the Baggies scout has taken an interest in.
Albion signed Scott Allan from the Tannadice club for an undisclosed fee in January 2012 after the midfielder refused to sign an new contract.
