West Brom head coach Steve Clarke is excited about the potential of new signing Claudio Yacob after his impressive debut on Saturday.

The Argentinian international was star of the show as the Baggies secured a 3-0 opening day victory over Liverpool, but Clarke is convinced he can only get even better as he settles into life in the English Premier League. Yacob more than held his own against England captain Steven Gerrard at the weekend following his summer switch from Racing, but his performance didn't come as a surprise to his new manager. Clarke told Albion's official website: "He's settling in very well. "The Argentinians have a great mentality. They're a strong nation and the players tend to settle in well. "It's a similar game - a tough, physical league over there. He and Youssouf Mulumbu were really good at the weekend. "I think he's shown in training and the games that he's played that he is what we thought we'd get - he's an Argentinian number five, who breaks up play and keeps the ball for his team. "That's the characteristics for that position and it's what he's done."
