Albion rebuff Trotters bid

West Bromwich Albion, 15:17, June 19, 2009 ,

Bolton are reported to have failed with an opening bid of £500,000 for West Brom full-back Paul Robinson.

Robinson is keen on a return to the Premier League following the Baggies relegation last season and Wanderers are favourites to wrap up a deal after Albion said he could leave.
However, they will not let him go on the cheap and have rejected Bolton's opening bid. It is thought Albion are holding out for a seven-figure fee and Trotters boss Gary Megson will have to at least double his first offer if he wishes to conclude a deal for the 30-year-old left-back, who he signed for Albion from Watford in 2003.
Robinson still has a year remaining on his contract with the option of a further year at the Hawthorns and Albion will only let the player go on their terms.
