West Brom will not recall midfielder Scott Allan from loan to play against Aston Villa, meaning he can remain with Portsmouth.
Albion considered recalling the ex-Dundee United starlet in time for their derby clash on Saturday with Pompey's relegation now sealed. But they have now allayed the fears of Fratton Park boss, and former Baggies coach, Michael Appleton by rejecting the idea. Allan will now play against Nottingham Forest at the City Ground before returning to The Hawthorns in time to be considered for West Brom's final two Premier League fixtures against Bolton and Arsenal. "After the sad news of them going down at the weekend, there was a consideration to bring him back this week," Albion assistant manager Keith Downing told his club's official website. "But the fact is Michael still needs him for one more game and we want to keep Scott there to help Michael out as much as possible. "In terms of injuries from our point of view, there is no emergency to bring Scott back so he will fulfil the last fixture for Michael."
