Baggies look to January experience

West Bromwich Albion, 12:33, November 14, 2008

Tony Mowbray admits that West Brom will need to bring in players with 'Premier League experience' during January's transfer window.

The Baggies find themselves bottom of the table with 11 points from 12 matches and it gets no easier for Mowbray's men, as they prepare to face league leaders Chelsea in Saturday's late game.

But Mowbray feels there is not too much wrong and believes a bit of extra 'know-how' could be crucial in the new year, with Scott Carson, Dean Kiely and Jonathan Greening the only squad members having regular top flight action under their belts.

The bookies have the Baggies as one of the favourites for the drop, but fans looking to use their £10 free bet on West Brom's survival bid will be interested to hear the manager's latest remarks.

Mowbray said: "A bit more know-how, someone who knows their way around the division at both ends of the field, to score more goals and to help the midfield defensively or to help in the back four, would be a great help to the side.

"We continue the search and hopefully in January we can strengthen our team and keep pushing on. But we have still got great belief in the group of players we've got that we can have a good season."
