West Brom boss Tony Mowbray has told his players to ignore the Premier League table as they prepare for the clash with Chelsea.
The table toppers are the next visitors to the Hawthorns on Saturday and with the Baggies sitting at the opposite end of the table there is a natural air of tension, but Mowbray has told his players to concentrate on the game and not on the table.
"We're somewhere we don't want to be," said Mowbray. "But we've got to treat it as a positive and say the only way is up.
"We need to keep finding the performances we're putting in and be more clinical in both boxes. We're not far away and I don't feel as if we can't compete. If things roll our way a little bit we'll be fine."
The boss added: "There was an example recently where, had Bolton lost, they would have been in the bottom three and yet they won and were ninth. That's how tight this league is.
"Unfortunately, at a time when it is very, very tight we've hit upon Liverpool and Chelsea.
"The damage in my mind is that we missed opportunities against Hull and Blackburn - two games at home you would hope to take six points from and ultimately only took one. Those are the games that, when you look back, you hope aren't too damaging."
