Baggies striker nears Palace switch
West Bromwich Albion,
Crystal Palace remain hopeful they will sign Peter Odemwingie from West Brom for a compromise fee of just over £2million.
Talks are continuing between Palace and Albion over the transfer and, while there is a delay at the moment, it is still expected to eventually go through in the next week or so.
Palace are unwilling to go beyond £2million for a player who the Baggies are desperate to sell and is out of contract in just 12 months but the midlanders were hoping for more for the Nigerian, who has scored an impressive 30 goals across his three seasons so far in the top flight.
However, a compromise is expected to be reached in the coming days, with Palace possibly having to fork out around £2.25m for the forward.
Odemwingie, who is 32 on Monday, is keen on a move south after being ostracised by Albion following his failed attempt to try and engineer a move to QPR in January.
