Baggies unlikely to catch Ferrie

West Bromwich Albion, 10:34, October 31, 2008 ,

Swansea have moved quickly to scotch renewed speculation that midfielder Ferrie Bodde could be set to join West Brom in January.

The 26-year-old Dutch midfielder, who has been an influential member of Roberto Martinez's side since arriving from Den Haag in the summer of 2007, has been strongly tipped to make the switch to the Baggies in a £2.5million deal during the next transfer window.
However Martinez and Swans chairman Huw Jenkins have dismissed the prospect of Bodde, who signed a new three-year contract in the summer, leaving the Liberty Stadium.
Jenkins said: "He will be staying with us. He's committed to helping the club progress."
Martinez added on the BBC: "It's not just Ferrie, we've got a group of five or six players that are ready to play in the Premiership right now.
"We are not in a financial mess where we are forced to sell players and every fan knows that."
