Baggies won't rush deals
West Bromwich Albion,
Steve Clarke has told West Brom fans not to expect any new arrivals in June but has a long list of transfer targets he is working on.
The Baggies have been linked with a host of players recently, with PSV Eindhoven striker Ola Toivonen and Fiorentina forward Mounir El Hamdaoui the latest names supposedly on Clarke's transfer radar.
Clarke has refused to name any names in regards to his transfer targets but says he has drawn up a list of players who he feels will improve the Albion squad.
However, any supporters expecting to see West Brom open their cheque book this month may be disappointed as Clarke isn't expecting to conduct any business until later in the summer.
"We have a list of players but I'd be lying if I said we had players lined up to come in because we haven't," said the Scot.
"But it's a long summer and you tend to find that there aren't many signings in June and I think that will be the case again this year.
"Last year the only player we signed in June was Ben Foster and that was a carry on from the end of the previous season, when he'd been here on loan."
