Anderlecht are close to signing Cercle Brugge's £6million-rated striker Tom de Sutter - a reported target of West Brom.
The Brussels club have opened talks with Cercle's 23-year-old target man, who is also interesting Dutch outfit AZ Alkmaar.
Tony Mowbray was said to be chasing De Sutter earlier this month, though the Belgian is said to have agreed a deal with Anderlecht now.
Cercle coach Glenn de Boeck is demanding De Sutter make his mind up over whether he intends to leave during the January transfer window.
The tall striker was voted the best player in the Belgian league for the first half of last season before he picked up a bad knee injury which kept him out for six months.
Brugge president Frans Schotte revealed: "With De Sutter, the board of Cercle made it clear that in January we would be prepared to let him leave.
"He has already told us of his preference for Anderlecht, but nothing is signed yet.
"We also know that West Bromwich and AZ are interested, but we will take into account Tom's preferences.
"Tom has given us a lot of pleasure and we are still enjoying his qualities and we will treat him properly.
"The transfer fee is not fixed, but we will not be asking for €15million - we do not want Tom's career to slow down."
