West Brom will reportedly rival Blackpool for the services of on-loan Seasiders striker Luke Varney.
Varney is currently on a season-long loan-deal from Championship side Derby and Blackpool boss Ian Holloway had claimed the two clubs had an agreement in place which would allow the Seasiders to snap up the striker for £250,000 in the January transfer window.
However, Derby have dismissed the claims and insist no such deal is in place, which has alerted West Brom boss Roberto Di Matteo.
The 27-year-old has scored four goals since his switch to Bloomfield Road and other clubs may consider making a move for the striker now Derby have rejected Blackpool's claims that an agreement is in place.
