Gera blow throws winger moves into air
West Bromwich Albion,
Jerome Thomas and Graham Dorrans may not now leave West Brom in January after the season-ending injury to Zoltan Gera.
Baggies officials had told Dorrans he could find a new club this month, providing their £4million valuation is met before the deadline.
And Thomas, who is only just back from a loan spell with Leeds, is also now more likely to hang around with his first-team chances boosted by the misfortune of the luckless Gera.
The Hungarian ruptured the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee again against Queens Park Rangers and his route back to top-flight football looks to be a long and hard one.
Thomas looks set to be the immediate beneficiary after he made his first senior appearance of the season in Saturday's FA Cup third round tie at Loftus Road.
