West Brom are reportedly ready to raid Rangers again after news that Steven Naismith is set to quit on a free transfer.
The 25-year-old has been linked with a move to the Hawthorns in the past and, following the news that he has rejected a transfer to the Rangers newco which will allow him to move under freedom of contract, it has resulted in fresh speculation of a summer swoop. However, sporting and technical director Dan Ashworth will face a real fight to take Naismith, who was one of the nominees for the 2010-11 SPFA Player of the Year, to the Hawthorns given that there will be rival offers from the likes of West Ham and Everton. It is thought new boss Steve Clarke would welcome a deal for Naismith, despite the fact he has not played competitively since October after suffering a cruciate knee ligament injury.
