Hodgson's midfielder return clue
West Bromwich Albion,
Zoltan Gera is being primed to make his first appearance of his second spell at West Brom against Arsenal on Saturday.
The Hungarian star, who underwent surgery on a foot problem after rejoining Albion from Fulham this summer, has been an unused substitute in the Baggies' last two games.
But boss Roy Hodgson gave his clearest indication yet the 32-year-old will complete his comeback at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday by withdrawing him from the squad for Tuesday night's reserve clash with Chelsea.
Gera played 45 minutes of the reserves' 3-1 win over Arsenal a fortnight ago - his first match action in five months.
But Hodgson believes he will benefit more from training with the first-team this week as they had a couple of intense sessions planned.
The same does not apply to Gabriel Tamas, who was set to make his return from injury in Tuesday night's match after suffering a thigh strain on international duty with Romania three weeks ago.
