McClaren opens the Daw for Albion loan raid
West Bromwich Albion,
Nottingham Forest boss Steve McClaren is reportedly looking to sign West Brom defender Craig Dawson in the emergency loan window.
The former England boss watched the highly-rated stopper in action for the England Under-21s in their 4-1 friendly victory against Israel at Barnsley's Oakwell ground on Monday.
And, with the loan window opening for business on Thursday, it is being suggested that McClaren will look to take Dawson to the City Ground on a temporary basis in order to bolster his leaky defence.
The possible stumbling block for Forest is that West Brom boss Roy Hodgson might be reluctant to lose the former Rochdale man given that Marek Cech and Pablo Ibanez departed the Hawthorns on transfer deadline day so he will be short of defensive cover if Dawson leaves.
