Midfielder fitness boost

West Bromwich Albion, 10:09, February 12, 2009 ,

West Brom boss Tony Mowbray is set for another boost on the injury front as Filipe Teixeira claims he is fit and raring to go.

The Portuguese playmaker has been out of the side for the last seven months with both knee and calf injuries, but he now claims he is ready to play his part in the battle to beat the drop.
Teixeira came off the bench against Newcastle last Saturday and showed no ill effects from his run-out and now he claims he is ready to start.
"I'm OK. I feel completely fit enough to be in the team," he told the Express and Star.
"My knee is not a problem now. I had a problem after the knee injury with my calf, but that is okay now and I feel ready.
"All players are frustrated and disappointed when they don't start games, but when this happens you have to train really hard and when you get the chance you have to make sure you do your best."
