Midfielder in race against time

West Bromwich Albion, 10:17, November 28, 2008

West Brom midfielder James Morrison is in a race against time to be fit enough to play at Wigan because of a knee injury.

The former Middlesbrough man missed the defeat at Stoke but he is hoping to have recovered enough so that he can run out at the JJB.

The strength in his knee will be tested at a training session and then a decision on his inclusion will be made after the medical staff.

He told the expressandstar:"Touch wood, there's no lasting damage there. Providing I come through without any adverse reaction, I'll put myself in contention.

"I've only missed two league games this season and I've got my fingers crossed that tally won't be going up to three this weekend. Of course, you've always got to be careful with knee ligament injuries.

"That's why I've said everyone needs to be patient with Filipe (Teixeira) and Kim (Do-heon)."
