West Brom defender makes Olympics cut

West Brom defender Craig Dawson, 22, has been included in the 18-man Team GB Olympic squad for London 2012.

Dawson has made seven appearances for the England Under 21 side, with four goals to his name, and has been included in the Olympic squad by boss Stuart Pearce. The centre-half will link up with the rest of the squad on July the 8 and the Team GB group games, against the UAE, Senegal and Uruguay, will take place between July 26 and August 1. The final of the competition takes place on August 11, a week before the start of the 2012/2013 Premier League season, meaning Dawson will miss pre-season with the Baggies if Team GB go all the way at London 2012.
