Celtic are to make a move for West Ham striker Craig Bellamy when the transfer window opens in the new year, according to reports.
With doubts surrounding West Ham's financial position there are many who have predicted a fire sale of stars at the club and, although this has been strenuously denied by the Hammers board, it is thought that Gianfranco Zola will have to sell to finance his own signings.
With this in mind it is now reported that Celtic boss Gordon Strachan is after the player, who spent five months at Parkhead three years ago, on loan until a permemnant deal can be done in the summer.
A Celtic source told the Daily Mail: "Gordon is acutely aware he needs to strengthen his strike force after the injury problems he has had this season.
"He has his eye on Bellamy and wants to make a move in January. Gordon has worked with Bellers before so knows all about his controversial nature.
"But he believes he can get the best out of him and give him the chance to win trophies and play at the highest possible level in the Champions League again."
