Cole aims to be hot in front of goal

West Ham United, 10:32, December 23, 2008

Striker Carlton Cole is confident he will get back on the goals trail for West Ham over the busy festive fixture programme.

The former Chelsea forward has not scored for the Hammers since the 3-1 home defeat against Bolton on October 5 which has resulted in boss Gianfranco Zola allocating some extra time with him on the training ground this week to try and sharpen up his finishing.

Cole has responded to his manager's call for some more goals by vowing to get back on track in the coming games, especially with Dean Ashton still ruled out with a long-term injury and doubts over Craig Bellamy's future at Upton Park.

The former England U21 international said: "My confidence is okay.

"I'm getting in the right positions and now I have to execute it."
