Under pressure Avram Grant may have to do without influential midfielders Scott Parker and Mark Noble for the clash with Wigan.
Parker has been suffering with a virus that kept him out of the dismal defeat to Liverpool last week and Noble has only just returned to the team after a frustrating time on the sidelines following surgery on his appendix.
Noble now faces another spell in the treatment room with suggestions he could be out for up to five weeks.
Manuel da Costa (ankle) and Valon Behrami (hip) are also doubts for West Ham, while Jack Collison, Zavon Hines, Peter Kurucz and Thomas Hitzlsperger are long-term absentees.
Zavon has been playing reserve games over the past week or two, so may be just fit enough for the game.
