Hammers defender hopes

West Ham United, 10:09, March 3, 2010

West Ham co-owner David Sullivan believes he is owed a favour by Mathew Upson and is looking for him to agree a new deal as pay back.

The centre half has been linked with a summer move away from Upton Park as he will only have 12 months left on his contract but Sullivan wants him to sign a new deal and stay with the club.
Whilst co owner of Birmingham Sullivan allowed Upson to leave for West Ham and he is hoping that the favour is repaid by the player and that he will sign a new deal to keep him at West Ham.
"We all really want Matthew to stay," Sullivan said in The Sun.
"I did him a favour letting him leave Birmingham and I hope he can return it."
